Game Night Fun: Our Adventure with Wonky and Flip 7!
Game Night Fun: Our Adventure with Wonky and Flip 7!
This weekend, we had the chance to try out two exciting games from *The OP Games*, thanks to @tryazon: *Wonky* and *Flip 7*! Our family loves game nights, so we couldn’t wait to dive in and see what these games had to offer.
Before we started, I asked everyone which game they thought they’d enjoy the most. Wonky came out as the top choice, so we decided to play that one first.
Wonky: A Game of Wobbly Fun
Wonky is such a fun and easy-to-learn game that even my 5-year-old joined in for one of the rounds! The premise is simple but super entertaining: you stack wobbly-shaped blocks on top of each other without letting them fall. Each player starts with a hand of cards, which determine what kind of move they can make—like which block they can add to the stack or if they can skip a turn. The first person to either stack all the blocks or get rid of their cards wins.
Spoiler alert: we didn’t manage to stack all the blocks, but we had so much fun trying! The combination of strategy, suspense, and those hilariously wonky-shaped blocks made this game a hit. It’s definitely one of those games that works for most ages, which is always a win in our book.
Flip 7: Strategy Meets Luck
After Wonky, we moved on to Flip 7, and wow—this game was the surprise favorite of the night! It didn't get voted as most interesting at the beginning because we thought it sounded hard to play, in reality it was quick to learn! Flip 7 combines a little bit of luck with just the right amount of strategy. The gameplay reminded us of Blackjack in the sense that you’re deciding whether to “hit” and draw another card or “stay”.
The twist? If you get two cards of the same number, you’re out for that round—unless you have a special “Second Chance” card to save you! The game kept everyone engaged, and we loved trying to find the balance between taking risks and playing it safe. By the end of the night, Flip 7 had stolen the spotlight as the family favorite!
Final Thoughts
Both Wonky and Flip 7 brought something unique to the table. Wonky was perfect for lighthearted family fun, while Flip 7 offered a slightly more strategic experience that kept everyone on their toes. I’m so glad we had the chance to try them out, and I’d highly recommend adding these games to your collection if you’re looking for something new for your next game night.
A big thank you to @theopgames and @tryazon for making this game night possible! We’ll definitely be playing these games again soon.
