St. Patrick's Day Activities & a Freebie!


St. Patrick's Day is a fun holiday that can be celebrated in many different ways. Here are some fun activities for St. Patrick's Day that you can try with your students or children:

1. Leprechaun Trap: Have your students or children build their own leprechaun traps using household items. You can also have them write a story about their trap and what they would do if they caught a leprechaun.

2. Shamrock Science: Explore the science behind St. Patrick's Day with fun experiments such as making green slime or a rainbow density jar.

3. Irish Dance: Teach your students or children some traditional Irish dance steps or watch videos of Irish dancers performing.



4. Irish Food: Try making some traditional Irish foods such as shepherd's pie, corned beef and cabbage, or Irish soda bread. You can also have a taste test of different brands of Irish soda bread or different flavors of green-colored treats.

5. St. Patrick's Day Bingo: Create a bingo game using St. Patrick's Day-themed words such as shamrock, pot of gold, or leprechaun.




6. Irish Folktales: Read Irish folktales or legends to your students or children and have them create their own story or artwork inspired by the tales.

7. Scavenger Hunt: Create a scavenger hunt with clues related to St. Patrick's Day, such as finding a green object or a four-leaf clover.

8. Green Day: Have a "Green Day" where everyone wears green and participates in activities related to the color green. You can also have a green-themed snack or meal.




9. St. Patrick's Day Crafts: Make St. Patrick's Day crafts such as a paper plate leprechaun or a rainbow mobile.




10. Irish Language: Teach your students or children some Irish words or phrases.
